    Default America Last: Paris Accords

The one country making substantial progress in reducing carbon emissions is the U.S. under Trump. Even though our GDP is way up over the past four years, our carbon dioxide emissions are DOWN.

Air pollution levels and emissions of lead, carbon monoxide and other pollutants are at record-low levels.... Beijing is far and away the largest polluter.
Year after year, it makes hollow promises to stop climate change while they build dozens of new coal plants. India and its 1 billion people are hooked on coal, too.
Here is Paris in nutshell: We cripple our $1 trillion oil and gas industry while China and India keep polluting and laugh at us behind our back.

he tragedy of all this is that we have a clean and efficient source of energy. Thanks to the shale oil and gas revolution, the cost of fossil fuels has fallen by 70% to 80% -- and the costs will continue to fall, thanks to the superabundance of these energy sources.
The U.S. has more fossil fuel energy than virtually any other nation. We are technologically ahead of the rest of the world in drilling productivity and have become a net exporter.

Across the globe, world leaders are overjoyed that under a Biden administration, the U.S. will reenter the Paris Accord.
Why wouldn't they be? We pay the bills. We hang our booming free market economy on a cross of climate change regulation. We pretend that the world is complying -- when their actions speak much louder than their words.
We trust, but we don't verify.

If Paris is one of Biden's first official acts as president, he will be announcing to the world that putting America First has been replaced with putting America Last.

total bullshit. that is why it is in townhall. surely, even the most low-info trump voter must realize our NATO allies, and Japan and Canada, all have more intelligent policies than dumbshit trump and other GOP losers about everything, from renewable energy, to curbing climate change, to sensible gun control laws, to fairer tax policies, to universal health care. oil prices ARE SUPER LOW ALL OVER THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, NOT JUST HERE. fracking and selling out our environment and our overall health so big oil companies can make more profits might make sense to dumbass trump voters, but not to people with measurable IQs. Oil and carbon based fuel in general needs to be phased out, not encouraged by HUGE ASS TAX SUBSIDIES AND CUTTING ALL SENSIBLE ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS.

and no, the US is not a net oil exporter of oil. it imports more than it exports. but when you talk about petroleum products, not crude oil, then we are a net exporter.

    www.eia.gov › todayinenergy › detail
Feb 6, 2020 — The United States is a net importer of crude oil. In November 2019, the latest monthly data, it imported 5.8 million b/d of crude oil and exported 3.0 million b/d of crude oil. The United States is a net exporter of petroleum products (such as distillate fuel, motor gasoline, and jet fuel).

Administrator Scott Pruitt said that the Paris Climate Agreement "did not hold China and India accountable," and that "India didn't have to take any steps in the agreement to reduce CO2 emissions until they received $2.5 trillion in aid. China didn't have to take any steps until the year 2030."[1]

    Is this true?

Each signatory to the Paris Climate Agreement is required to submit a plan, called a nationally determined contribution, detailing emissions reductions.[2] There is no penalty if China, India, or any other signatory does not achieve those targets.[3]

Under the Paris agreement, developed countries such as the United States pledge to provide funding and technical support to developing countries such as India and China to assist with emissions reductions. The agreement does not specify how much funding will be provided, nor does it name the recipient countries.[4][3]

    Haw, haw...........................haw.

    • There is no pandemic - only 6% of people who died had no co-morbidities and were under 80.
    • The Boeing 737 MAX is a safe aircraft - It is otherwise the FAA wouldn't have recertified it.
    • Brexit is a good idea for the UK - Brexit is an excellent idea
    • Boris Johnson is a statesman - Says the twat that thinks Sturgeon isn't a bad joke.
    • Trump will win - He will in 2024
