Default The last big lie of the Trump Presidency

    "Massive voter fraud."

In a Presidency that will be remembered for extreme dishonesty and little else, Trump saved one of the biggest for last.

He got weeks of lawsuits. He got a recount and an audit. And now another recount. He threw every piece of spaghetti he had against the wall: Voting software! Midnight ballot dumps! Ice cream trucks full of Biden ballots! Dead voters! No observers!

Nothing stuck, because none of it was true. Republican officials, Secretary of States and his own DHS said that there was no evidence of fraud, and even that this was the most secure election in American history.

And anyone who can do basic math understood that huge counts broke for Biden late because many more Democrats used mail-in (as was expected), and mail-in was generally counted last.

A normal, legit election, that Biden won in a massive, massive landslide: 306 electoral votes, and a margin of over SIX MILLION in the popular tally.

"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

I guess you can put your Fisher-Price BLM playpen away, for now at least. Looking forward to your reparations cheque then?

I expect less so, since he lost the election several weeks ago he has altogether stopped doing anything.
Except tweeting and golfing. The captain said he was in the loo. Hasn't been seen for a month.

Last I heard, Mitch McConnell was begging Trump to go to Georgia and campaign for the 2 Republican Senators there so Mitch could retain Leadership of the Senate. Trump has the Redass for Georgia and said 'Fuck Them', they didn't Vote for me, why should I waste my time.

I expect Trump to initiate a 'Scorched Earth' policy from here on out.

Disappointing follow-up tweets from Trump last night and this morning.

He is never going to give up this "most corrupt election in history" thing. And unfortunately, millions of Americas are still under the spell and will accept what he says about it at face value, without needing one bit of evidence.

If Trump's biggest "lie" as the OP puts it, is, "Massive voter fraud."

Then he's streets ahead of Obama with his repeated "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your (health insurance) plan, you can keep your plan..." Those are two of the most in-your-face, bald-faced, arrogant, and knowing whoppers of lies told by any politician to the American people possibly ever.

    LOL

That standard answer from the right. When confronted with one of Trump's literally thousands of lies, the only thing they can think of w/ Obama is "you can keep your plan."

It's actually a testament to how honest Obama was that this is all anyone can ever cite.

And there is no lie that comes close to being as damaging as the one that undermines the integrity of American elections for 10's of millions of followers.

If we use the standard applied to Trump, Obama told thousands of lies too. Everything from the Benghazi debacle, to "red lines" in the sand, to "You didn't built that..." and far beyond. Obama was easily a much bigger liar on a more harmful scale than Trump ever was in office.

    The bolded is preposterous.

Not really worth debating. No one thinks that. Obama was relatively honest, as evidenced by the fact that "you can keep your plan" is the only thing conservatives ever bring up.

Trump can't speak without lying. He is a textbook pathological liar. There is literally no comparison, at all.

Just because you can't accept it, doesn't make it false.

No he wasn't. I gave more examples.

If we go with the Trump standard you, and others, use where a "lie" includes any exaggeration, half-truth, campaign promise, hyperbole, or the like then I can add:

GMO labeling. Obama promised this would be made mandatory. Didn't happen.
    Closing Gitmo. Didn't happen
Lower US debt. Ran it through the ceiling. Obvious lie there.
Said he would not go after people's guns, yet he pushed for more gun control, an assault weapons ban, etc. Another obvious lie.
Pull us out of foreign wars. Yet, we're still there and Obama even got us into several new ones.
Promised to work with Congress. Then we get "pen and my phone" when Congress would do everything, or anything, he demanded / want them to do.
Promised more free speech, yet his administration was singularly one of the harshest against whistleblowers in US history
Promised not to raise taxes. He did that multiple times on virtually everyone one way or another.
Promised to have the most open and "transparent" administration in history. Instead he had one of the least open and transparent.
Promised not to spy on US citizens. We could start with his spying on the Trump campaign and transition and go from there...
Said in 2012 "Oil production is the highest it's been in eight years..." He was taking credit for something he had no part in. 96% of that increase came from fracking (he was against) on private land Obama had no control over.
In May 2011 Obama told the US that the Mexico border fence "Was nearly complete" when his administration had installed less than 40 miles of new fence and most to the border remained open entirely.
In April 2009 he claimed he "created 150,000 new jobs" as part of the stimulus. This was a lie on two issues. First, more jobs had been lost than created, and second, the way jobs were counted many were over counted. For example, a concrete contractor I know was doing three highway barrier jobs at the time. He hired 3 new workers for those jobs but because they were used on three contracts they were counted as nine (9) new jobs by the government.
Obama promised the stimulus package would have "No earmarks" in it. It contained over 9,000...

Etc., etc., etc... Obama lied his ass off, and most of his lies were far worse than the often nonsense, bragging, and hyperbole Trump The Troll was spewing.

Like I said - not worth debating. Though, you really stretch on a lot of that list.

No one objective agrees w/ that premise. Everyone knows Trump is far & away the most prolific liar we've ever seen in public life. Obama is also seen as one of the more honest leaders of modern times.

Even conservatives don't argue that anymore.
