Kerry is another. He's a traitor. See his time with the VVAW and Winter Soldier project as but two examples. He's also relatively incompetent.

Both are also long time political hacks rather than outside the Beltway professionals who know the subject matter for their post.

    That's two.

The president-elect will be sworn into office in 58 days.

President-elect Joe Biden made official his picks for a number of high-level administration and Cabinet positions on Monday, including tapping former Secretary of State John Kerry to be his climate czar and Antony Blinken as secretary of state.

President-elect Biden also tapped Alejandro Mayorkas as his Homeland Security secretary, Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Jake Sullivan as his national security adviser and Avril Haines as director of national intelligence.

Mayorkas is the first Latino and immigrant picked to head DHS and Kerry’s position is the first time that the National Security Council will include an official dedicated to climate change.

"We have no time to lose when it comes to our national security and foreign policy," President-elect Biden said in a statement. "I need a team ready on Day One to help me reclaim America’s seat at the head of the table, rally the world to meet the biggest challenges we face, and advance our security, prosperity, and values. This is the crux of that team."

"These individuals are equally as experienced and crisis-tested as they are innovative and imaginative," he continued. "Their accomplishments in diplomacy are unmatched, but they also reflect the idea that we cannot meet the profound challenges of this new moment with old thinking and unchanged habits -- or without diversity of background and perspective. It’s why I’ve selected them.”

It is expected the role of U.N. Ambassador will be elevated to a Cabinet-level position in the Biden-Harris administration, two sources told NBC News.

    Of the those mentioned above:

Kerry: Traitor and idiot. How anyone could put this POS in a position of authority is beyond me.

Alejandro Mayorkas: A reasonable pick. Competent and good at his job.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield: A long time political bureaucrat. Basically, she's just a hack with no particular resume highlights to show she's really good at anything. A reliable chair warmer.

Jake Sullivan: Another Democrat insider and liar...err, lawyer... of no particular repute other than being another long time political hack.

Avril Haines: A Progressive with an eclectic background. She's badly unqualified to head national intelligence however. She is a reliable Democrat (eg., she won't let the administration be embarrassed by a scandal. She'll sweep it under the rug in an instant. She has a track record for that).

President-elect Joe Biden is expected to nominate Jake Sullivan as his national security adviser and Linda Thomas-Greenfield as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, multiple sources familiar with the plans told NBC News.

Sullivan served in the Obama administration as national security adviser to then-Vice President Biden before serving as director of policy planning at the State Department and as deputy chief of staff to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Sullivan later served as a senior policy adviser to Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.

Thomas-Greenfield served as the assistant secretary of state for Africa from 2013 to 2017 under former President Barack Obama. Before that stint, she served as U.S. ambassador to Liberia.

That brings us back to the fact that few if any trump hires had a fucking clue to what their job entailed. We can just start with Ben Carson whose sole claim to HUD is the fact that he lived in a house. It was all about loyalty first and competence a far distant second.

That's another criterion by which they've been chosen- and some of them aren't men and others aren't white.

Aren't you appalled by the orange dick yet ?

Tu Quoque fallacy. We aren't discussing the Trump administration. But yes, as an aside, he picked some idiots too.

Some idiots? The vast majority my dear. He promised to hire only the best, yet we have about 200 members of this administration who were fired or forced to leave office.

That's your opinion. I really don't want to go through the list of Trump picks to single out the dumb ones however. Trump is old news at this point.

No, but I am appalled that racism and sexism are being used to make cabinet selections.

He IS old news - but if someone didn't care about the qualifications of his cabinet, it would be unusual to care about those of Biden's.

Regardless, Biden is picking qualified people, with actual experience. That he is giving some weight to diversity doesn't change that equation.

The number of 200 is a fact my dear, to which you can add close to 100 more from the VP's office. Yes, Trump hired only the best!

I did care further back, but Trump is on his way out. I'm now looking at Biden's picks. Kerry is the absolute worst one he's considering.
