A technocracy run by nationalists would be the ideal, but it requires changing our culture somewhat. Singapore has the ideal model of government, but expanding it to the size of America would be difficult.

What has the U.S. done to let you down?

That's the biggest thing I didn't understand about Trump supporters in the '16 election. That "this is our last chance" sentiment.

The most free, prosperous country in the history of the planet isn't enough for all of you? Our quality of life is silly good compared to any previous generation.

But "the media doesn't represent me," so it isn't working?

It's not the most free or prosperous nation. And your side doesn't even believe it is, given their rhetoric about America. You only wax patriotic when it's convenient for your arguments.

But it doesn't matter. Left or right, the reality is that freedom is just an illusion. As Bill Hicks said, "You are free to do as we tell you."

There is more to life than freedom.

I agree. Order is more important than freedom, but the quality of order is dependent on who is managing that order. The corporate elites that manage our order are among the most despicable people the West has to offer.
