As for me being a motor cross and and hare scrambler racer I indeed was in Ohio and Penn and a couple times in Wv. I asso did some hill climbing in local event in gob dumps so you know that were very challenging and resulting in more than a few severe injury's on people taking part. so you know I would use my 360 for them but would add additional padding on the handle bars and change the rear tire to a wider tire and change the rear sprocket to one with more teeth I had ordered I also changed the carb jets . the 360 mx had more then enough powe but made it at higher rpm . I didnt want to try and shift while racing up hill leaning over the bars as far as I could it was difficult so Would get a good run in third gear which was naturally now a lower ration due to the sprocket change and go like heck , this way I was in not having to down shift except in rare instances when I screw up and was able to maintain speed and momentum, and not risk the loss of traction with a down shift while standing and leaning so far forward to keep the front end from coming up and flipping or spinning out.

when doing the hare scrambles you had to carry a tool kit extra chain link and clip and tire patches . these were long races and if you had mechanical problems you were sol , and the race was over for you , I also used a different sprocket for the scrambles with just a few more teeth to slightly lower the gear ratio and I had a separate exhaust that helped a bit with mid range power. as I could only really afford one bike at he time as I was young I tried to use it for everything except road word.
