No, actually you are 100% wrong. Unfortunately you're like a five year old who throws a tantrum when he busted and tries to change the subject.

RCT is as close as it gets unless you want to wait on meta-analysis.

Why is this a big deal? Is this one of those ‘Trump can’t be right’ things?

For those living in abject terror just go ahead and wear a mask the rest of your life if you think it's so protective against the exhalation of others who don't choose to do so.
And they can stop pretending it’s scientific while they’re at it. And they can stop lecturing the rest of us from behind their masks while they’re at is as well

But the study was non-conclusive. If that's as close as it gets, it proves nothing.

And why are you bringing Trump into it? Doesn't he publicly state that he supports masks?

Is Stretch's contention that people only wear masks to protect themselves "scientific?"

Read again. NOT ourselves. I said if OTHERS think wearing masks will protect themselves from getting Covid, then just do it already.
If we choose not to, then that's OUR choice regarding our OWN benefit.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

A happy marriage between science and common sense would mandate that symptomatic people wear masks while everyone else not bother with them.
Your second sentence would sound reasonable if there weren't ASYMPTOMATIC people.

Because of the knee-jerk response of anti-Trumpers.

Their non-conclusion does nothing to support the idea that masks prevent transmission—otherwise, they would have concluded they did lol. They didn’t address source control so that’s up in the air.

They may be effective and they may not be. Flip a coin and call it in the air. In practice what it likely means is that the fabric of the mask could provide a physical barrier to a sneeze or a cough but otherwise it doesn’t do much since aerosols will simply circumnavigate around it. Wearing mask outside is simply ridiculous.

What the study demonstrates is that if ‘masks were all that’, then that conclusion should leap out of the data—and it doesn’t.

It's certainly not a cure-all, and no one has ever said that.

It's just one precautionary thing we can all do to slow the spread. Distance, wear a mask if you can't distance, and wash your hands frequently.

Very small asks - if we all did them, we'd be in much better shape right now. Both w/ regard to health and finances.
