I totally see a 2021 where businesses refuse to bring workers back if they don't have a COVID vaccine shot.

So if you're a Trumpanzee and you refuse to get a shot, you don't get to work.

Not only that, without a certificate of current vaccination and a mask, they won't be allowed to leave their home.

Mayors in many states, like mine (Arizona), don't have the authority to overrule the governor.

So? As I pointed out, governors in many states can't be overruled by local government. Aside from that, this WILL end up like the 55 mph national speed limit. One-size-fits-all mandates like this are a recipe for disaster politically.

    Irrelevant appeal to authority.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on a lot of "if's."

Different case. Employees could also demand employers supply the masks--particularly union ones you favor so regularly--and even supply special ones for those with various conditions (for example, I'm allergic to polyester and rayon so a mask with either in it is unsuitable for my use). As to being fired--that too is highly problematic. It generally isn't easy to fire someone for almost any reason these days with all the employment laws on the books.
You can fire anyone for any reason as long that reason doesn't single out a protected class. Sorry, but if you refuse to wear a mask and your employer requires it, you can be fired. Employers don't need to buy you clothes, they don't need to buy you a mask. They don't have to accommodate your special need unless you are considered handicapped by law. I can fire you for smoking, for being obese, for wearing cologne. i thought you claimed to be a business owner. How do you not even know that?

The "vote for us just because" strategy isn't one that's going to win you a lot of representation.

    willful ignorance..........you know better
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

No Republican will ever win another election of any consequence.

Only if we abolish the electoral college and admit DC and PR as states.

There is no legal way to force anyone to get tested or vaccinated. That isn't a statement on the validity or smartness of either position, but a legal one. In the US you cannot force someone to be tested or vaccinated.
