Default Rolls-Royce plan 16 new SMR nuclear plants for UK

Naturally all these usual scumbags and ne'er-do-wells are banned!

A group led by Rolls-Royce has pledged to create 6,000 regional UK jobs within the next five years under plans to build 16 mini nuclear power stations.

The consortium said the jobs would help support the government's "levelling up" agenda, with up to 80% of the power station components set to be made in factories across the Midlands and the north of England.

These components would then be sent on to existing nuclear sites around the country for rapid assembly.

The plans come at a crucial time for the UK amid rising unemployment caused by the pandemic.

They could also help revive the fortunes of the engine maker Rolls-Royce, which is slashing 9,000 jobs to offset the hit from coronavirus, around two-thirds of them in the UK.

NuScale SMR receives US design certification approval

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued a final safety evaluation report (FSER) for NuScale's small modular reactor. This is the first-ever FSER to be issued by the NRC for an SMR, and represents the completion of the technical review and approval of the design.

For what Obama squandered on the "Shovel ready" stimulus he did, the US could have taken the money and built 25 to 50 new nuclear power plants replacing every coal plant and many older less safe nuclear plants making us virtually carbon free on electrical production. Backed by a range of natural gas peaking plants, the US would have met the Paris accords without resorting to solar and wind whatsoever.

But when the Left's in charge appearance takes precedence over function, and reality and facts are irrelevant. Thus we end up with idiotic energy policy like California's or the Green New Deal.
