Covid restrictions have in fact been devastating to the economy...
and that devastation was multiplied many-fold because the restrictions weren't universally enforced at the optimal time for doing so.

COVID restrictions are “backed by science”. Anytime the word ‘science’ is misused in that manner is a clue that the issue is being placed beyond debate: it essentially becomes a dogma.

An accurate way to report it would be something like ‘Alito has a problem with the *controversial* COVID restrictions. Not only is it entirely accurate, it would reflect the reality that the science [what there is of it] behind the COVID restrictions is anything *but* settled.

For example: if masks work, why aren’t they working?

Then there are the scare quotes around Alito’s assertion that COVID restrictions have brought “previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty” as if the claim were somehow outlandish.

As if small business owners being forced out of business by government decree is an everyday occurrence.

The amount of propaganda being thrust on people over this business is ‘previously unimaginable’.

They are only 'controversial' because knuckledragging morons don't believe the earth is round. In essence.
