Australia has certain advantages, but its main weakness is that its economy is largely affected by China. When China is doing well, they do well. When it's not, they don't. Some of this dependence is offset by American influence in their economy, but it still renders them vulnerable.

I think maintaining influence in Australia is a better endeavor than most of our foreign policy initiatives. It's a lot cheaper than most of them as well. That being said, I would agree that America is in decline.

Finally, Trump said in a semi-formal interview about 6 months ago that he thought the world would not come to an end as a result of climate change, but most probably through a nuclear war. Yes, what you say is very true. Another negative is our day-to-day "cost of living" , which is extremely high compared to yours, and to the COL in other Anglosphere countries.
