The headline typically reads something like this: "Youth/Black turnout SURGES prior to election day"...
However, these headlines only appeal to people who are ignorant of, or illiterate in, mathematics (typically, this is Democrat voters).
Within the articles themselves, you will typically see the author quote various numbers regarding ballots, usually in the form of: [insert a very large number of "youth" ballots here] for the 2020 election, on this date, is MUCH higher than [insert a very small number of "youth" ballots here] for the 2016 election, on the same date, thus youth turnout is SURGING!!!!!
What these articles are doing, besides completely ignoring all of the covid scam circumstances that surround this election cycle, is directly comparing the 2020 NUMERATOR against the 2016 NUMERATOR, while completely ignoring what the DENOMINATOR is in both instances (which in this case is the total number of ballots received by ALL segments of voters).
To illustrate what I mean, let's say that there were 25K youth ballots and 250K total ballots in 2016, meaning that the youth vote made up 10% of the total electorate in 2016... Now, for my two upcoming examples, let's say that there were 200K youth ballots in 2020...
under DENOMINATOR #1: 200K (youth ballots) / 1M (total ballots) = 20% of the total ballots are youth ballots. HOLY SHIT what an increase in the youth share of the vote this cycle!!! (20%, compared to 10%)
under DENOMINATOR #2: 200K (youth ballots) / 4M (total ballots) = 5% of the total ballots are youth ballots. DAMN IT!! The youth share of the vote has actually DECREASED this cycle, even though 200K is MUCH larger than 25K!!! (only 5%, compared to 10%)
DENOMINATORS matter, you mathematically illiterate problem-solving-inept morons...

So in your example, the number of voters increased by 1,500% in just four years? That would be insane. It is not even close to being possible.
In 2016, voter turnout against trump was low, and voter turnout for trump was extremely high. It looks like voter turnout against trump has surged, and voter turnout for trump has dropped slightly.
The fact is that trump is not going to get much more votes than he got last time, and probably a few less. If Biden can get more votes than Clinton got, trump loses. The indicators is that trump has lost some votes(not good for trump), and Biden's votes are surging(really bad for trump).

Do dumb fuck lefties such as yourself not understand the concept of using random numbers to illustrate and illuminate a point?? My post completely went over your head... Read it again and try to understand the point being made...
That's simply not true. In my State of WI, for example, turnout was down throughout much of the State for BOTH major party candidates...
You're blabbering stupidity, and it is completely unrelated to the topic of my OP, which is about the media presenting people with incomplete information regarding the "youth/black vote SURGE!!!" position that they are running with...
