This is laughable coming from a Democrat who would vote for a mass murderer if he/she had a "D" after their name.

Maybe so. I just don't see it. I think they're going to push for Don Junior or some other such stupidity. And the usual suspects can't win an election for dog catcher. Nikki Haley probably would have the best shot, she didn't fully abandon Trump but her defense always seemed to be delivered with a wink to the smarter people in the audience.

The GOP needs a candidate like Jon Huntsman, Jr. He left the governorship of Utah with a 90% rating and he's worked in administrations of presidents from both parties. He is worldly from his experiences as the US ambassador to China, he speaks fluent Mandarin, and he acknowledges science. The GOP could easily beat Biden in 2024 with him (and maybe Kasich as his running mate, or even a loony right-winger to get the Trumpers excited).

I hope he loses but RePass predicted Hillary would get 53% in 2016.

I thought he'd lose all along in 2016. Not sure what your point is.

Too placid for the GOP base, if he loses, it is going to take more than four years for them to forget the Trump schtick, it either has to be a flame thrower like Cotton, or, a closet flame thrower like Cruz, somebody who knows how to play the right wing media

I could see that guy from - OK? with the eye patch as a rising star. He seems fairly intelligent. His response to that freak from SNL making fun of the patch was cool.

From the right it makes you do a serious double take, with whip lash, to hear progressives talk about Romney being a moderate, having gravitas and being a sign of respectability. This is the same guy who in 2012 (supposedly) had a far right wing economic agenda along with being a racist and sexist vulture capitalist. Same guy now being praised in liberal circles.

That just shows how fucked in the head and confused the modern day Democrat has become.

Interesting observation. I had a similar conversation today. It's part of the reason I'm hopeful. We (and I am included in that we) on 'the left' demonized Romney, and suddenly, we found out what a real demon looked like. I think a large segment of the population that had become polarized have suddenly found common ground, and common ground leads to more fruitful discussions. I think we're more likely to see the two sides work together going forward. So your comment is completely fair, an I'll plead guilty. We sometimes forget that disagreeing doesn't not mean that the other side lacks integrity. This has been a good reminder.

Texas I think. Good observation. You're right, he checks a lot of the boxes. And he handled that extremely well.

I really liked Huntman. Would be wonderful if they ran someone like that.

Hopefully the Trump loving weirdos will settle down back into normal republicans once his terms are over. This politics of personality is sickening. I vote policy, and Biden's are bad so I won't vote for them, and I vote SCOTUS and Judge Appointments... I've never liked Trump, but I will vote for him over Biden every day of the week, and twice on Tuesdays.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
