I guess it was humorous. Yes, of course it was. This election is so pivotal for our nation. The stress of the pandemic, so many people dying, and wondering how the election will turn out and what will happen to our nation does not lend itself to such unexpected wry humor. Since it was not presented to me as humor, and there have been so many defections from the Republican Party, I took it way to seriously. I could have appreciated it more if I had known from the outset that it was tongue in cheek.
I thought it was obvious & via the link it is in the address..

No, he and the others like him will never be Democrat’s. They just don’t recognize their former party any longer. The Lincoln Party will go forward to reorganize conservatives.

Thanks. We're good. This whole pandemic thing is very stressful. Humor doesn't flow as easily as pre-pandemic.

Part of the stress is seeing people blowing off all the precautions, out there having fun, gathering in groups, knowing such actions are contributing to the spread, knowing that as they gather like that they know many people who are not doing that, and are probably talking about how they feel those who are taking the precautions seriously are 'being foolish,' etc.

It's not always easy doing the right thing.

It sometimes includes being challenged by people who not only don't want to do the right thing, but feel motivated (out of subconscious guilt?) to mock those who do.

One of the really reassuring parts of this is all the Republicans who have publicly done exactly what the OP covers and not only left the Republican Party, but publicly endorsed Joe Biden, the Democrat.

    This 'RED-TURNING-BLUE WAVE' is unprecedented.

That should say something to the Republicans who cling to the conman.

Fortunately, it DOES say something to the middle.

    Don't tell anyone...........
I certainly didn't need an explanation.. I saw it first when the author wrote about running around in a donkey suit. Heck you gave it away in the bolded paragraph.

Well, it's not going to adopt the GND, court packing, judicial illiberalism, middle class tax hikes, post-birth abortion, etc, so, I don't see them as having much of a place in the GOP.

I bet that the Toadstool will create his own party out of the shattered remains of the GOP, and include the alt-RWers, Nazis, white supremacists, etc.
