By definition, barter does not include money, therefore, it cant be the same as if you provide the amount of money.

It becomes easier to hide a service, but technically even a service must be reported. Any exchange of goods or services must be reported, and taxes must be paid on it.

Lets say one person babysits while the other cleans house. Who to say they are not just babysitting and cleaning house for free, so will probably get away with it. But if it is on a larger basis, lets say one company provides transportation, and the other provides medical diagnosis... That would trigger the IRS.

There is sometimes an effort by corporations to use barter to hide income. It is often caught.

That is where it gets UGLY!!! So you have to pay taxes on the "fair market value" of the goods or service that you are bartering. In a normal business transaction, the seller wants a higher price, and the buyer wants a lower price. In a barter transaction, because the price (in money) is never paid, both want the lower price to pay the lowest taxes. They will then claim a ridiculously low price... So far so good. Then the IRS will make a ruling that it is the "standard advertised price". The problem is that is often a starting point for a negotiation down to a real price.

So lets say someone advertises a house for sale for $300k. You would have been able to negotiate them down to $270k. Instead, you paint them a painting you could sell for somewhere between $200k and $300k. You would both like to set the price for everything at $100k, to save everyone tax money. The IRS will probably demand the price be $300k, even though there is no way anyone would have gotten $300k for that house.

If you've read the general content of this forum you'd know it's a baby step, not a pole vault.

Do you think it's wrong for an asshole to abuse their position to push a political agenda? Asking for a friend.
    What position is being abused?
It doesn't matter. It was a general question, a question you are avoiding answering. That, by itself, is an answer.

The fact that the bottle says it is made in Kentucky should have tipped me off.

My recommendation is to stick to high end Polish, Swedish, Russian vodkas.

Didnt think anyone else knew about that SHIT. Someone bought me a bottle of that cheap crap too for UNDER my bar....LOL Took just a sip to see what it was after the guy told me how cheap it was. Literally spit it out of my mouth. Pretty sure its only real use would be using it like Drano to unclog a drain or a toilet!

when I go to the beach, I'll have a Corona on tap. It's my once a year splurge
Or if I am really adventurous a Planters Punch (reduce the added simple sugar though)

the recipe calls for 3 ounces of dark rum, 3/4 ounces of fresh lime juice, 1 ounce of simple syrup, 1 spoonful of grenadine and 3 dashes of bitters. The drink is shaken and served over crushed ice in a Collins glass, finished off with a dash of soda water and a mint sprig.

    1 drink and I am done for..lol

Total False advertising. The bottle I had showed a picture of Red Square on it, an obvious attempt to make the product appear authentically Russian.

Then the fine print says it is distilled in some town in Kentucky.

Shots or mixed drinks? I used to have a taste for Black Russians. Every time I traveled to Mexico, which was about once or twice a week for over ten years, I'd usually bring back a liter bottle of Kahlua. In the US it cost about $30, but down there it was about $10. Not much of Tequila drinker, but I brought back some of that too as presents, usually Jarana.
