Again...NY encourages voting. I made sure I got my mailer, just to be sure my polling place would be open, and in the same spot. Early voting starts soon here...I might just pop in and vote early.

NY is solid Blue. I don't have to vote, but there are local/state races that need my vote.

The VA is run by the government.

    You have government-run health care.

The VA didn't just appear out of thin air either, it was created by legislation passed by politicians people voted for.

And you should be on your knees for Obama since he's the one who made it possible for you to even have the VA care you have right now that you didn't earn, but you're exploiting nonetheless.

What's sad is the TV host beats the ever loving shit out of anyone you can produce.

So you'd be fine with your county increasing your property taxes so the local high school can build a sports complex, etc? You wouldn't vote to say no?

California added 141,300 residents between July 2018 and July 2019, bringing the state population to an estimated 39.96 million people, according to the California Department of Finance. Which is exactly what I did; voted against two tax increase bills for schools. The problem is growth as more people spread into my county.

If you don't vote or do any of that stuff, how is it you're on a political forum, let alone a mod on one? Why do you even involve yourself?

Yes, weeks ago, mailed it in, first time in quite some time I voted absentee, just wanted to see how it felt, uneventful

Nobody voted for it. We vote for candidates, not policies (except state referenda).

Politics is not just about you. If the military prevents a foreign invasion or police prevent a home invasion that benefits you.

I don't have any property myself but my mom does. Don't need her paying more when it's already a big chunk. We have a bit under 3 acres and maybe 3,000 + sq ft including the unfinished parts. Before Dad passed away in 05 he was building up the Michigan house to accommodate the whole family. His dream was having all my brothers and sister under one roof for Christmas. It's still an unfinished shell even now.

    Recession started in February.

COVID lockdowns were in mid-late March.
