Rudy handed the story over to a right-wing paper that saw it as Rusian dirt and they did not want to deal with it. They did not want it, There was a lot of internal argument and finally, they let it out without a writer's name attached. They knew it was a crap story. But Trump is getting creamed and they needed an October surprise. This is all they had.
You know what the people want to hear? How will you handle Corona in the future after fucking it up so badly? He is attacking Fauci. Fauci has a very positive rating among thinking Americans. This is not a winning idea. Trump says Fauci is not a team player. He is not on the team. He is a public employee working for the people and the government, not Trump.
