Thanks. But yikes, what a biased source. lol I found this on the Economist, from a couple of years earlier than the Nation of Change article. Looks like a clear violation of international law. Couldn't find anything more recent though, so it's possible that the exploration didn't find much worth exploiting.

Copious use of inflammatory language. I'll quote a couple of paragraphs and paint the pertinent bits in red.

These are signs of bias by the author. The gist of the article -- that an American company has probably-illegally obtained rights to drill in an occupied territory of Syria -- appears to be factual. I just object to the author's attempts to rile up my outrage and confirm my bias.

I just feel better about myself if I can find less-colorful sources to confirm my bias.

I would find a less progressive article for someone not as open minded as yourself. There isn’t much news written on Genie as you have discovered. I follow most of Dick Cheney’s activities. The man should be in jail for multiple crimes to humanity. He is evil.

It's going to be a tough next some years for Toxic Top. During Obama's tenure she got very excited (wink wink) posting shade about Mrs. Obama, how "fat" she supposedly is ("OMG look at her booty in that dress!"), her "man arms," hinting that she's a tranny. She viciously bashed her FLOTUS program to improve children's health through diet and exercise, how trashy it was to have a WH vegetable garden, etc. etc. This time around FLOTUS will be 1) a white woman, and 2) someone Toxic might hesitate to attack, given her credentials as an actual educator with a PhD, rather than someone who just pretends to be one on an obscure political forum. But not to worry! Our haters always rise to the occasion! She's already attacked Biden's stuttering disability so there's plenty more opportunities there.
