I want a functioning country. It’s embarrassing to hear foreigner talk about how crappy our infrastructure is.
Taxes build infrastructures, you get what you pay for, and in order to encourage and maintain our wealth, we need to stay ahead of the curve.
It should make sense to the wealthy and the corporations to pay taxes looking at them as an investment in our country.

Upwards of 80% of our infrastructure is a state and local responsibility, not a federal one. Raising federal taxes won't change that.
Much of the infrastructure that gets built on a local level is done by developers and contractors who then turn it over to government to operate in return for tax breaks on their profits. That's how, for example a shopping center or new housing development works. The private company building it puts in all the utilities, parks, roads, etc., then gives them to local government for free to get a tax break.
That government is too incompetent or bureaucratically hampered, or both, to keep those things up is another problem entirely.
