Default Lost in Trump's bluster: Biden's middlin' performance

Since the right hyped up "dementia Joe" for months, all Biden really had to do to win was show up and be coherent, which he was.

But it wasn't a great debate for him, either. He missed quite a few excellent opportunities, and could have done more w/ Trump's issues on taxes and downplaying COVID. His strongest moment was near the end when he was talking about voting and the integrity of mail-in ballots.

But it really doesn't matter. All anyone is talking about is Trump's off-the-rails crazy act. My own hunch is that Trump went in w/ this strategy to try to confuse Biden and prevent him from staying on topic, which would have helped reinforce the image of Biden he wanted the public to have. Biden stumbled here & there as a result, but not nearly enough to match the expectations Trump had set.

If the next debates are more in control, Biden stands to gain even more than he did yesterday. The more he was allowed to speak last night, the better he came across. A town hall format will be great for him.

Biden played it safe. If Biden had taken great risks, there would be a chance of gains, but also a chance of losing.

trump is losing, and he clearly does not know how to turn that around.

Trump made a mistake interrupting Biden repeatedly.

There's a axiom of warfare that goes Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a blunder

By Trump interrupting Biden, he got Biden out of having to fill two plus minutes with talk. Biden is, and long has been, a walking gaff machine. Trump should have let Biden talk and talk and talk. Biden would have said stupid things. He'd say insane things. The guy can't help himself. By interrupting him, Trump let him off the hook and he seemed more capable of answering than he really is.

He is saying he won, not that anyone would expect anything else regardless of how outrageous it was..

Contrary to his lies & illusions anyone can read many of his own ppl saying he did a shitty job.........

he really listens to no one so~there is that.....

His usual is to double down & attempt to rescue his past performance so I would expect him to come in w/ the same/similar game plan, or in his case some warped false narrative only his martyr brigades are going to buy into & then try to build on/sell it again, aka project on Biden..

I would not think he would go off in the upcoming setting but he is erratic & irrational so they better be prepared.....

    Que sera sera
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

    Good point.........

We'll see if trump's gut gives him that advice or tells him to double down on Biden~continuation of the first debate........

I hope they focus on the ppl there & plead their case to them & not focus negatively on each other..........
