Hitler was elected, later he fixed that. Trump is trying to do the same.

I am against making DC a state for the very same reason the Founders were against it. If the city citizens want to make it a state, give the land back to Maryland and Virginia.

President George Washington chose the exact site along the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers, and the city was officially founded in 1790 after both Maryland and Virginia ceded land to this new “district,” to be distinct and distinguished from the rest of the states. To design the city, he appointed Pierre Charles L’Enfant, who presented a vision for a bold, modern city featuring grand boulevards (now the streets named for states) and ceremonial spaces reminiscent of another great world capital, L’Enfant’s native Paris. He planned a grid system, at which the center would be the Capitol building.
As for Puerto Rico, cut them loose. Grant them independence and a heartfelt "Adios!"

Can you say Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh?
More to come.
"Never in recent history have so many senior former U.S. officials publicly attacked the commander in chief they served, or the decisions he’s made, as the ranks lining up to say President Donald Trump put himself and his re-election ahead of the country, thereby threatening its security. "

This is actually textbook gas lighting.
In order to accept this I have to pretend Trump didn’t oversee *historical progress* in the Middle East; Getting NATO to ante up for the own defense; historical progress in Kosovo and all of these things hardly amount to ‘making the country less secure’.
It’s just the opposite, in fact: with the Middle East realignment we are more secure in our energy policy than ever before. With Trump, a president finally recognized the threat from China, finally. And finally done something about it.
Whoever these people are they must walk around with their eyes closed because they aren’t seeing what I’m seeing. More likely, they have some sort of ax to grind or an agenda.
But that is gas lighting. Since they keep doing it, it must work on some people.
