A weakness has been detected in Covid-19's protein spike which means the strain could be injected with antiviral drugs to stop it working, scientists revealed.

An international team from Bristol University believe they have found a “druggable” pocket within a Sars-CoV-2 sample which could be a potential pandemic "game-changer".

First clinical trial: Vitamin D prevents Covid-19 complications in hospitalized patients

To test the hypothesis of a possible link between Vitamin D Receptor activation and the severity of ARDS or COVID-19, researchers conducted a pilot study [9] to assess the clinical effectiveness of Calcifediol (25-hydroxyvitamin D3 or 25OHD) in early stages infection in Covid-19 hospitalized patients. Cholecalciferol is the native vitamin D3 form and nutritional substrate for Calcifediol. The study tested Calcifediol as it is known to increase serum 25OHD concentration rapidly.

The study, done as a preliminary step to a more extensive randomized clinical trial, evaluated whether such treatment can reduce the need for admission to ICU and the potential risk of death. [8]

The researchers divided a total of 76 patients into Calcifediol treated (test = 50) and untreated (control=26) groups. Both groups had similar baseline characteristics (e.g. age, sex, comorbidities) and clinical biomarkers of disease severity (oxygen levels, C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, ferritin, D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase, and lymphocyte count). However, the control group had a higher prevalence (57.69%) of hypertension than the calcifediol group (24.19%).

They treated 50 patients with Calcifediol, out of which the only one (2%) required ICU admission. None died, and all were discharged, without complications.

Among the 26 untreated, 13 patients (50%) required ICU admission, out of which two died, and the remaining 11 were discharged.

Yup. Months ago I posted all kinds of info on D3. That elderly couple (and others) stuck on that cruise ship back around March
were in port in Japan and given massive doses of D3 on board and also when they were taken off the ship and put in the hospital there.
Other passengers on the ship (and the crew) were also all given D3 around the clock by ship's doctor even if they had no symptoms.
I've been taking 5,000 IU of D3 for a year and a half now just wanting to keep my immune system strong as I get older. It works.

THis was always the expected, Bret and Heather were talking about this all the way back to April, Vit D is usually very important in the bodies response to virus.

It is fucking the end of SEP now....look at how long it took our so-called experts to even begin doing their so called systematic studies to figure out the interaction between Vit D and this virus. Even now a lot of "Experts" are claiming "well we just dont know"....go do a Google and see.

The researchers found a small molecule, Linoleic acid (LA), buried in a tailor-made pocket within the spike protein which is located on the surface of the virus.
