Findings from the chairmen’s investigation include:

In early 2015 former Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, George Kent raised concerns to officials in Vice President Joe Biden’s office about the perception of a conflict of interest with respect to Hunter Biden’s role on Burisma’s board.

Kent’s concerns went unaddressed and in September 2016, he emphasized in an email to his colleagues, “Furthermore, the presence of Hunter Biden on the Burisma board was very awkward for all U.S. officials pushing an anti corruption agenda in Ukraine.”

Findings from the investigation include:

Hunter Biden was serving on Burisma’s board (supposedly consulting on corporate governance and transparency) when Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky allegedly paid a $7 million bribe to officials serving under Ukraine’s prosecutor general, Vitaly Yarema, to “shut the case against Zlochevsky.”

George Kent testified that this bribe occurred in December 2014 (seven months after Hunter Biden joined Burisma’s board), and, after learning about it, he and the resident legal adviser reported this allegation to the FBI.

The investigation into potential conflicts of interest began in August 2019, with Chairman Grassley’s letter to the Department of Treasury regarding potential conflicts of interest with respect to Obama administration policy relating to the Henniges transaction.

During the Obama administration, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States approved a transaction that gave control over Henniges, an American maker of technologies with military applications, to a Chinese government-owned aviation
company and a China-based investment firm with established ties to the Chinese government.

One of the companies involved in the Henniges transaction was a billion dollar private investment fund called Bohai Harvest RST (BHR was formed in November 2013 by a merger between the Chinese government-linked firm Bohai Capital and a company named
Rosemont Seneca Partners.

Rosemont Seneca was formed in 2009 by Hunter Biden, the son of then Vice President Joe Biden, and by Chris Heinz, the stepson of former Secretary of State John Kerry.

Hunter Biden involved in vast financial network, connected to foreign governments around the world



The Senate Homeland Security and Finance Committees released a long-awaited report detailing millions of dollars in suspicious monetary transactions between Hunter Biden and foreign entities.

Both committees investigated the former Vice President's son for his dealings in Ukraine, Russia, and China.

The findings of the report include damning evidence against Hunter Biden and his associates, including Joe Biden's brother, James Biden, who has already faced charges of fraud this year.

"The Treasury records acquired by the Chairmen show potential criminal activity relating to transactions among and between Hunter Biden, his family, and his associates with Ukrainian, Russian, Kazakh, and Chinese nationals. In particular, these documents show that Hunter Biden received millions of dollars from foreign sources as a result of business relationships that he built during the period when his father was vice president of the United States and after."

There is no allegation of any wrong doing. The only findings about Joe Biden are that his son's position made it awkward. Then they found the Hunter Biden opened a bank account, paid money to some people and got secret service protection for some overseas trips.

In 2015, both a senior official at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv and a senior State Department official expressed concerns to Joe Biden's staff about a conflict of interest between the U.S. anti-corruption agenda in Ukraine and Hunter Biden's position on the board of Burisma, the largest natural gas company in the country.

Ukrainian officials launched an investigation this year into Joe Biden's involvement in the 2016 firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor who was subsequently investigating Burisma.

Joe Biden has publicly said that he threatened to rescind a $1 billion U.S. loan to Ukraine if the prosecutor was not fired.
