Contrast that to Trump: he is on tape admitting that COVID is deadly and easily transmissible, but he has made a calculation that large rallies will create enthusiasm and help him get elected. He even told a reporter that HE is safe, because he's up on stage. But he puts the lives of his supporters at risk - because it may help him win.
    Cuomo made NY an example???

NY has 1634 covid deaths per million and FL has 617. Oh yeah I see your point they are an example.

I am sure that is true, in Britain, where they have defeated the first wave. The problem is we still have the first wave. I am not sure why you titled a thread about the UK with the USA death number. Do you think we are in the UK? Do you think we have universal healthcare?

Thread topic is excess deaths that are plausibly due to mitigation measures.

And not the virus. In the UK that number could be nine times higher than COVID deaths.

You don’t think this relates in any way with what’s going on here?

Well you offered no proof they defeated the first wave and their death per million is 618 and ours is 615.

How has NY progressed since this started?

You don't need to answer that - I've got it. They followed CDC guidelines, Cuomo was out there every day reminding New Yorkers to take basic precautions like distancing and wearing masks, and by the summer, they were the #1 state in the union at slowing the spread.

So, yeah - it's an example everyone should follow.

NY was ravaged by the WuFlu and so was WuHan.

As was Sweden. Two out of the three places have left the COVID dystopia in the rear view mirror. The other is run by Democrats.

See a pattern there? What does it suggest to you?

Of course it was hit hard at the start. I mean, you get that it's one of our largest & most traveled cities, right? With a high population density? They also think that a NYC airport is where the virus entered from Europe.

    Please.

But leaders respond to those situations. NY took the brunt of it right away, but the response was unreal. They did everything that was recommended, and by June, they were the top state in the U.S. at slowing the spread.

The results speak for themselves. They are unassailable.

Oh this is the those deaths happened a long time ago? That's a poor argument as deaths are deaths my friend. Cuomo killed those people.

I think that's the thing most Trump supporters don't understand, because Trump himself doesn't understand. Leaders make mistakes. It's how they learn & adjust from those mistakes that matters.

And NY has been a shining example of overcoming early mistakes & problems.

Again - the results absolutely speak for themselves.

But why are two of the three places running wide open.

No election politics at work there?

But, the elderly that Cuomo killed can't.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

Trump had a rally yesterday where people were packed in side by side, most not wearing masks (and he mocked masks again while he was talking).

Trump is also on tape admitting to downplaying the virus and hiding the truth from the American public.

So what. The stats have been fake from the start.
