Seattle City Council votes to overide mayor’s veto of cuts to police budget
https://mynorthwest.com/2177090/seat...override-vote/Seattle City Council voted to override Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s recent veto of cuts to the police department’s budget by a 7-2 vote.
“We cannot look away from this and we can no longer accept the status quo if we truly believe that Black lives matter,” said Council President Lorena Gonzalez after expressing that she would be voting to override the mayor’s veto.
Councilmembers Alex Pedersen and Debora Juarez were the two dissenting votes in the special session and key vote Tuesday.
I have not been to Seattle since Nov, I used to go every couple of months at least, often a lot more. I dont miss it as much as I expected which I think is because I am getting old and I have spent a lot of time over the years sampling the best of everything. I am pretty happy in this oasis that I have built with my wife and my Newfi (He gets a brother soon!), going nowhere expect all things hound related (Wife does the shopping, she likes it). But I am sad tonight that I am not going to have the chance to go back except to witness a city die.
Seattle: You stupid fucks are dead to me.

This is going to hurt.

https://www.oregonlive.com/business/...-closures.htmlIn yet another sign of COVID-19′s mounting economic costs, the Columbia Sportswear store has joined the list of businesses that won’t reopen in downtown Seattle after the pandemic.
Columbia Sportswear, one of Oregon’s largest companies, hasn’t publicly commented on the fate of the store at Third Avenue and Pine Street. It was looted during the May 30 protests and is currently boarded up.
But three company employees confirmed that the store, which opened in 2008, is now permanently closed. They said the decision was driven by losses from the pandemic and concerns over downtown’s economic recovery, but also broader business challenges in downtown, including shoplifting and street crime.
“There were multiple issues,” including “the hardships of working downtown,” said a Columbia Sportswear employee who requested anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to the media.
The departure of Columbia Sportswear is the latest in a series of high-profile closures in a part of Seattle that has been particularly hard-hit by the pandemic. Since March, 126 street-level downtown business locations have closed, according to Downtown Seattle Association
Bye Bye Seattle.

And a few other things....... like the media not even pretending to try to tell the truth, DA's that refuse to practice the law that they are charged to serve, political people acting like mental cases.... and here is a big one.....some degree of being wrong or liars about covid...and then using that to impose martial law.
Now we see if people can do something other than be cowards.

Cuts to the police budget is not eliminating the police force.
For some time now America is been too corrupt for the vote to matter much....as Bret Weinstein has said "We have been offered crime family A and crime family B" and every few years they run around scaring people into voting for them starting with "BUT THE SUPREME COURT" as A and B try to get over on each other but clearly neither of them give a fuck about us.
"They dont care about YOU!"
