And a CDC report released last month indicated that weekly hospitalization rates had steadily increased among children.

Coronavirus affects the young pretty much like bullets affect Superman. Some miss, some hit, very few show any effect. In spite of that, the bullets just keep on coming.

Only 5% of Covid deaths occur in the demographics younger than 50. That's still about 10,000.

Only about 0.1% of deaths occur in the age demographic younger than 21. That's still about 200.

At the time of the interviews, these stats, obviously, were not known.

That outlook is a recipe for economic disaster.

I think that's what the right doesn't understand about shutdowns, opening up & the economy. And for the record, I'm all for "opening up" - but with masks, distancing & other precautions.

But the bottom line is that we can open up fully without restrictions, and it still won't matter - because consumers need to have confidence. With all of the mixed signals and confusion surrounding COVID, they do not have that.

And we're seeing it start to catch up w/ the market now. No one has a vision for a pandemic economy. Trump just wants to ignore it and hope things go back to normal. But we need a new paradigm for how business will operate and thrive.
