Police: 77-year-old veteran attacked for wearing MAGA hat
A 77-year-old military veteran was attacked, apparently because he was wearing a 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA) hat.
The attack happened in broad daylight at the post office in Red Bluff, California.
He was approached by a man and woman. The woman said, 'We just don't like people like you,' according to witnesses.
The victim was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Police later arrested 26-year-old Daniel Gomez-Martinez for battery and elder abuse.
The victim said "This guy came out of ... I never saw it coming. I was so shocked for the hate that people have, you know. I don't hate them. I never met them. I just can't believe they would do something like that."
