Republicans said that 9 months before an election was too late to nominate a Supreme Court Justice, but now are going to claim that a month and a half before an election is fine?

There is no reasonable way to appoint a new Justice before the election, and no reason to rush this. On the other hand, leaving a post empty for a year just to get a Republican justice does seem dishonest.
