They can, but it would be difficult. They would have to have all the confirmation hearings, which takes a few months (if the Democrats cooperate).

You may have a point there.
After all if the Dems can "decree" that their candidate must not concede a lawful election under ANY circumstances, then Trump should "degree"
that we have a SC with all 9 seats filled and ready to go when all the litigation begins.........because of what the Dems themselves have started.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
    pain in abortion.

Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

After the election, the Senate will be a lame duck Senate until January. That is the way the world works.

    I never do that.

Also I want people to talk as much as they want, the more they talk the easier it is to judge them.

Would you care to give an explanation for why you stuck an obviously inferior thread?

First, Scalia didn't die a year before the election.

Secondly, Republicans did exactly what Joe Biden said should be done when a vacancy occurred during an election year.

The reality is, months before a Presidential election is a short time to nominate somebody new, and if I were a Republican in that Senate I would have done the same thing, and the reality is if the tables were turned, Biden himself had already argued the same thing... Seriously. Read about it.

Anyway, this will refocus this election on something that matters.
There is a huge difference between nominating someone a year before the election, and nominating someone AFTER the election that was lost.
