Many times they are paying to multiple coaches, just one is making the most. In a case 6 cases, the coach had such a good deal that he continued to be the highest paid, even though he is a former coach.

Now I can understand spending taxpayer money on a professor to teach engineering. I can even understand spending taxpayer money on a athletics program that is open to any student who just wants to be healthier. I certainly support a private team spending whatever they want on a coach in sports meant to entertain us. But why should taxpayers be forced to pay for sports entertainment?

You're either misunderstanding where this money is coming from or just being dishonest about it. Taxpayers aren't paying Saban's $9 million salary. In fact tax payers are paying very little of it. The money comes from revenue generated by the athletic program, outside sources and private donors. Not the tax payers.

It's not "the government" which, on an international forum indicates the US government. It's the Liberal-leaning state of Pennsylvania. Although I'd want a closer look at the books IF I was a Pennsylvanian taxpayer, since I'm not, they probably don't give a shit about my opinion.

There are many things in life I enjoy, that I do not think the government should pay for. Should the government pay for free tacos for everyone? What is the public good in paying these large salaries?

Typo on my part. You are correct, it was Penn, not UPenn. I have been dealing a lot with UPenn, and less with Penn lately.

Perhaps you shouldn't worry about the salaries...most people don't....
    "UPenn"?
WTF does enjoying football have to do with seeing a college coach paid $5.7M from tax dollars? Football is great, but a $5.7M should be scrutinized by state oversight committees.

If it were so profitable, you would think that the private sector would rush in for the profit. Instead, the taxpayers are being told they have to be in the business. And I do not see any profits coming their way.

Do private donors who went to Dallas Cowboy University have to pay McCarthy?

It's fucking dumb. The players should get money. The college guild diverts the cash from TV and the conferences and donors away from the natural objects
    of the labor.

Who wins the game Kawhi, Lebron, Murray, Curry and Antempekoumpo or the coach. Who gets paid more in a free market?

No doubt you favor the nationalization of all colleges to control salaries....all for the children, of course.

Disagreed. Giving away "free money" never ends well.

What? You're all over the place man. Taxpayers are not paying these salaries that you claim they are.

LOL, yeah, because no one before today has ever said college kids should get paid.

Putting the brakes on change is very often the right thing to do.
This illegal illegitimate regime that runs America is at fault...not me.... they do not represent me and I have long objected to their crimes against humanity.
