Default White Georgia sheriff's deputy seen beating Black man in viral video fired

Roderick Wilson was in a ride-share vehicle stopped for a busted tail light.

A white Georgia sheriff's deputy seen in a viral video repeatedly punching a Black man who was pinned to the ground has been fired after the man's family demanded he be released from jail immediately.

Roderick Walker, 26, remained locked up at the Clayton County Jail on Sunday, two days after video surfaced showing him being held on the ground by two Clayton County sheriff's deputies and being pummeled by one as he cried out "I can't breathe" and as his 5-year-old son sat in a car screaming, "Daddy."

He shouldn't have been driving around with a busted tail light.

Are you saying he was beaten because he is black? Do you have the details of what happened between the car being stopped and him being beaten? Something had to happen unless you're arguing the police offer decided to beat him based solely on race without anything else occurring.

Cops know that he was not required to carry identification because he was not driving. You can pretend that you don't know that, but they cannot. Additionally, there was no crime, only an infraction, for which the man was not responsible.

According to Georgia law, in that situation, the person can ask if they are being arrested or if they can go. Something you don't want to believe did happen likely did.

You are obfuscating. I'm not going to waste any more time on this.

I stated Georgia law. What you're saying is that the police, for no reason other than skin color, beat this guy.

Walker was riding in a ride sharing vehicle. The ride share driver owned, and drove the car. Blaming the customer for the car is insane. The white owner/driver of the car faced no repercussions for the busted tail light.

Clearly the white owner/driver cooperated while the chip on his shoulder black didn't. Outside of that, the only claim you can make is the police did what they did solely because the person was black. Isn't that the narrative you left winger adhere to?

The car was stopped by the police officer. The police officer had no interest in the driver/owner of the car, instead only investigating Walker. Walker explained he was just a customer, but he was Black, so they investigated him. Walker refused to give an ID, and asserted his Fifth Amendment right to not talk to the police, and got beaten for it.
