Default Evidence that proves masks stop viruses

We need a thread here that documents all the evidence that proves that masks stop viruses. Not propaganda to support and defend the use of masks, just evidence that proves masks stop viruses. Please list any evidence that proves masks stop viruses. Not allegations, gish gallop, or propaganda, just evidence like a solid explanation of how masks stop a virus with some substantiating data. Not statistics, just evidence. Links to other sites that contain the evidence are fine as long as you can quote the actual evidence that you are linking to in the post with the link. If you can't quote the evidence in a post where you provide a link then you are only linking to where you wish the evidence is. Ok folks, let's see the evidence!

Viruses spread through host fluids, troll boy. A mask doesn't let them escape, it's that fucking simple. If one is so dense they can't figure that one out they might as well put on a loincloth and start pounding rocks. I've seen Kindergarteners that can put that together. You wear a mask to stop you from transmitting. Protection for you is only slight if you're wearing a mask but an infected person isn't. It's called being a humane, decent, and a responsible human being.

Perhaps you should use a plastic bag as a mask. Take some duct tape and wrap it real tight around your neck so nothing can get out - or oxygen can get in.

So they have said you should wear a mask because it protects others from you, not the other way around. Isn't that correct? So you're telling us fluids can't get out of a mask by they can get into a mask?

Great post, Croc...but trying to get through to a Trump supporter is like trying to get a honey badger to understand quantum mechanics.

    Trumpers are dense as lead.

But I do appreciate you trying to penetrate the blockage!

If masks, as Croc says, prevent the spread of the virus, what's wrong with in person voting as long as people are wearing masks?

Perhaps you and Croc should wear plastic bags as masks. Tie them real tight around your neck.

Time to move into the 21st century, racist, we no longer use horses as our main form of transportation. Times change!

That whole thing is a crock of shit. My problem is with this asinine idea that we should wear a mask so we don't spread the virus to others. How are masks unidirectional in their efficacy?

There are some rather nice pictures for those that can't understand simple explanations.

    https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/...d-covid-19.pdf

If we aim to filter pathogens out of air, we therefor focus on these bigger particles rather than on the viruses or bacteria. Because of the focus on particles, it is a misconception to believe that viruses are harder to filter out of air than bacteria just because of the fact that viruses are smaller than bacteria.

This would be for virus size particles:
Particles < 0,1 micron (sub-micron size particles) The smallest particles will continuously collide with air molecules when they are in an airstream. Due to these collisions, they not only constantly change speed, but also change direction. The relatively large movements they make, are known in literature as “Brownian movements” and they ensure that the particles cannot escape the fibers of the filter. For these particles in the sub-micron size, this is so called the “Diffusion-mechanism”is very effective

The 3M white paper lists sources which leads us to this...
    https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics...air-filtration

Because Brownian motion increases as particle diameter decreases, the capture of particles by diffusion increases as particle size decreases.
So masks don't rely on the size of the holes. They use several methods for blocking particles and the smallest particles are actually blocked at a greater rate then the .1 to 1 micron particles.

Evmetro probably understands plenty, it's why he's trolling. I just felt like giving the finger to the masks = tyranny 1st graders.
