Why aren't we at ZERO cases in certain places? Even if there isn't 100% compliance there should be enough that we should be at zero cases. The virus has a two week incubation period. Mask nazis have imposed their dictates for over a month now.
Why aren't we at zero cases yet?

..... The answer my friend...is blowing in the wind.....the answer is blowing in the wind.....
I won’t go as far as to say masks do nothing in terms of mitigation but people who expect them to be some sort of game changer are delusional and/or have been misled.
If mask mandates have an effect on the numbers it’s probably not measure-able. And how would you measure it, to begin with?
Way too many variables to contend with. The studies I’ve cited looked at masks in clinical environments [where at least the variables can be controlled, somewhat] and the masks came up wanting.
In my 40 years of working in surgery I was never once told that masks were intended to do anything besides prevent *bacterial* wound infections. Viruses are totally different critter. Unless your mask is doing something besides keeping some else’s saliva droplets out of your face while they are talking in your face, I know of no reason why it would be doing much at all.
If micro-droplets are able to suspend several feet away—then they are able leak around the mask and accumulate on the front of it—making the mask itself a potential vector of transmission.
And if aerosol transmission is going on the mask is totally pointless.
My work people *aren’t allowed* to wear surgical masks in surgery anymore. Why? They are ineffective vs viral transmission and the guidelines are to assume every patient is COVID positive.
So at least in one instance medical people are being told something different than the public on the subject.

Let me add one more thing to your great analysis. All one has to do is look at the governments list of preventable infections that hospitals get dinged on every year. Does one of them include one single solitary virus? Nope
It is all intended to protect against bacterial infections
This is now like global warming. Those who have been duped will never admit it

From the moment they scrub their hands until the wound is closed and the sterile drapes come off the patient, surgical people are trained to constantly be aware of their sterile technique. And you’re right, for one reason and one reason alone: to prevent a bacterial wound infection from occurring.
It’s a real pain in the ass in orthopedics because it can lead to osteomyelitis and bone loss for the patient. During total joint arthroplasty they recommend hazmat suits because if a total joint gets infected all of the frightfully expensive implants have to be removed; patient gets at least two more operations—drives costs up and etc.
So we [well, I did lol] think about bacterial transmission—a lot. Respiratory viral transmission—never. The only occasion to worry about viruses was with the blood borne kind. Surgeons and staff contracting hepatitis or AIDS from a patients blood is a thing. It wasn’t unusual to see two or three Hep positive patients a week in our community with all the goof balls sticking needles in the arms.
That’s why some of this mask stuff doesn’t make sense to me. It’s ‘novel’ actually.

Masks work according to doctors. They do not according to trumpys. The stats show countries that used masks and separated, had far, far fewer cases that those who did not. The US has over a quarter of the cases on the planet. Trumpys do not believe that. Numbers lie when they do not back Trump the incompetent. Trump has engineered a terrible health disaster because he sees everything through how it benefits him. Pretending it did not exist was his first reaction. Then it was not so bad. The reason we have the worst results on the planet is we have the most inadequate leader on the planet.
Trump has lots of blood on his golf gloves. The worst part is, he does not care. He cannot even mutter condolences for the families he devastated. We know he does not care. Are we to assume the Trumpys do not care either. They certainly post like it.
How badly conned the Trumpys are. And in 4 years, they learned nothing.
Now you're saying Native Americans and blacks are "Trump morons"? Interesting. Not sure how to take that.
Why are people of color more at risk of coronavirus complications?
Answer From William F. Marshall, III M.D.
Research increasingly shows that racial and ethnic minorities are disproportionately affected by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the United States.
According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), non-Hispanic American Indian or Alaska Native people had an age-adjusted COVID-19 hospitalization rate about 5.3 times that of non-Hispanic white people. COVID-19 hospitalization rates among non-Hispanic Black people and Hispanic or Latino people were both about 4.7 times the rate of non-Hispanic white people.

Nope, just another case of the haves and have nots. Urban density, types of jobs that those minorities are more highly represented in, lots of reasons. Of course minorities are disproportionately affected. It's cooked into the systemic racism that continues to plague the country.
Agreed. It has nothing to do with Trump morons. Also my link to the mayo clinic didn't mention Trump morons.
As to AK Natives it's not urban density. The most remote villages are virtually all native. Diabetes is rampant among that group and they get totally free healthcare.
