Just imagine if you could come here and NOT be subject to the laws of the United States. Well, I don't have to imagine it.
AMERICAN HISTORY ITSELF IS A TESTAMENT TO THE STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE OF AFRICAN PEOPLE. WE, ALONG WITH THE COURGE AND SACRIFICES OF CONSCIOUS WHITE AMERICANS, LIKE VIOLA LIUZZO, EVERETT DIRKSEN, AND MANY OTHERS, HAVE FOUGHT AND DIED TOGETHER FOR OUR FREEDOM, AND FOR OUR SURVIVAL.
In America, rights are are not determined by what is just, fair, equitable, honest, nor by what Jesus would do. Rights are determined ONLY by what you can DEMAND.

This is the letter the Editors of Newsweek wrote regarding the article. I guess there is a debate among constitutional legal scholars over the 14th amendment, it's timing and how it's interpreted (since debating archaic high level stuff is what academics do well). If you're into that stuff it may be an interesting read. It's way the hell over my head and as far as this election is concerned she's 100% legal to run.

Ooo..
"In Harris' case, because her parents were not U.S. citizens at the time of her birth, "

Oooo..I figured they were naturalized by that time. So Idk. Also..Harris is not running for president (wink wink) and is picked by the presidential nominee, so that's different than running for actual president.
Bah, she's eligible. This is different than Obama.

Actually it is not different. If you are not eligible to be President, you aren't eligible to be Vice President.
Who knows maybe that was a reason she was picked for Biden hoping Trump would jump all over it. It is odd that Newsweek a lefty rag would publish on it.
I would advise Trump supporters and Trump not to take the bait. Not really worth it. Don't make her a victim which is how the press will play it.
