    Default America's new tone

Another American tradition, down the tubes. For VP picks, the opposition party leader & other prominent figures generally issue a congratulatory statement, and save the fight for the campaign.

The last 24 hours have been a complete "nasty" festival, led by Trump, and piled on by Fox News (remember when news networks were actually news networks?)

I'm sure most on this board don't care about that kind of decorum, but it's just another rung lower that we're setting the bar, for all kinds of behavior and discourse. We're a coarse, antagonistic country now - with no interest in reasonable discussion, finding common ground or even the most basic decency & kindness.

In short, Trump's America. And that will probably be his most lasting legacy.

I remember he & Obama meeting at the WH, and it was a good unifying moment for the country - until Trump trashed Obama about a week later.

    Murdoch's media empire owns Trump.

Funnily enough, it also owns Biden.

Murdoch owns any politician that buckles for AIPAC and the Israel lobby. He may be pledged to support Trump in exchange for his illegal mineral licences in Syria - but Biden will want him onside and the Murdoch press will feature. Should have stuck with Sanders. Murdoch had no power over that guy.
