Both of them are ‘transactional’ in the sense they will be whatever they need to be.

They were nutty, but Bernie did at least have core principles. In fact, didn’t Biden sign some of pact about adopting Bernie’s policies or whatever?

Apart from raising the obvious question of ‘why isn’t Bernie on top of the ticket instead of Biden?’ it stands to show Biden doesn’t care—he just wants to be president and sit at the desk.

People may have disagreed with Trump’s policy ideas but they did at least flow from core principles: building a wall to control immigration is one. You do that to protect our jobs [and possibly even to control a future epidemic] in order to Make America Great Again.

Same ditto with trade policy: one can criticize Trump for being wrong headed on trade—but it flowed from the central idea of ‘America First’.

Etc.

All that is missing from the Biden ticket. Or if it there’s it’s couched in SJW terms so we’ll be chasing phantoms for at least four years. The only good that will come out of it is that it will make easy sport on debate boards.
