    Get bent, supposed noob.

    gen·o·cide
    /ˈjenəˌsīd/
    Learn to pronounce
    noun
    noun: genocide; plural noun: genocides

the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation.
    "a campaign of genocide"

146,000 in one and 80,000 the other.

If this is proper retaliation than what can we complain about 9/11. We probably equivocally Pearl Harbored the middle east many times over.

I wasn't complaining to you. It's the one with unholy thoughts, Earl. When I wrote it no other post was here, when it posted others appeared.

You might want to note the difference between genocide and a crime against humanity (although neither term applies to our use of the A-bombs).

The World Trade Center was a crime against humanity. Civilians were directly targeted.

That's okay. I was just setting history straight. Starting wars is unholy and the Japaneses did it.

    Wars are unholy, period.

Necessary evil our not, it takes a real bastard to chant it like a heroic act. That's my point to Earl.

It's not even debatable. True, Japan was losing, but the cost of invading the Japanese islands would've have a far greater death toll on both sides. It is best to end the war as quickly as possible. The Bombs did just that.

Wouldn't it be better to bomb two military bases?

    Indeed.

It probably saved my brother's life and hundreds of thousands more American military lives and their descendants.
