Since we cannot count the deaths of U.S. or Japanese soldiers and civilians if the U.S. invaded Japan instead of using the Bombs, this really is a argument about speculations.
The Bombs were dropped. Truman made the decision to drop them. They were effective in bring the Japanese to the surrender table. Japan since has been shown a more profitable way than warfare. It's done.
