trump has refused to negotiate in good faith on the aid package, or push Republicans to negotiate in good faith. he has been spending years saying the Congressionally passed mandate that health insurers cover preexisting conditions are unconstitutional. So on Friday he announced he would extend the aid package by "executive order", and would mandate coverage of preexisting conditions by "executive order".
If passing a law to mandate coverage of preexisting conditions is unconstitutional, then making an executive order is ever more unconstitutional. trump cannot make laws (especially laws he claims are unconstitutional) by executive order. he can only alter government regulations by executive order, not create laws.
While I support extending the Covid-19 aid package, we have to do it the constitutional way. trump cannot just spend money by executive order, especially not that much money. Maybe he can move around the budget a little, but creating trillions in new spending with Congress.
Why doesn't trump put his effort into accomplishing something? he could pressure Republicans into moving forward on the aid package, and on extending Obamacare so that more people are covered.

Hello Walt,
Wouldn't it be easier if he just ordered the pandemic to go away?
Then, why not order the economy to skyrocket.
And, while he's at it, order that he is president for life,
Why not?
Who's gonna stop him?
He really believes that it doesn't matter what experts say, if he can envision it, he can make it come 'true' by lying about it.

ROFLwhere did he say mandating precondition coverage was unconst.?he has been spending years saying the Congressionally passed mandate that health insurers cover preexisting conditions are unconstitutional. there is no such thing as "more unConstitutional" it either is or is notIf passing a law to mandate coverage of preexisting conditions is unconstitutional, then making an executive order is ever more unconstitutional.

When Congress abdicate its's purview -the Executive gloms them up.. Not saying it right or Constitutional -but it is what it isWhile I support extending the Covid-19 aid package, we have to do it the constitutional way. trump cannot just spend money by executive order, especially not that much money. Maybe he can move around the budget a little, but creating trillions in new spending with Congress.
Why wont Dems offer a counteroffer? Why doesn't trump put his effort into accomplishing something? he could pressure Republicans into moving forward on the aid package, and on extending Obamacare so that more people are covered.

There have been many offers made by Pelosi. Yesterday Pelosi offered to reduce the bill by a trillion dollars, if we could just get something... ANYTHING!!! Republicans responded that they could not even accept everything they wanted until they get trump on board.
In the Supreme Court case.
There has been nothing but counteroffers. Republicans are not in a place where they can even accept a deal. They are too internally divided.
And that is where trump could have been useful. trump could arm twist Republicans into making a deal.
It would be called humor. Having fun at you nutcases expense who are still crazy enuff to try and push the whole DEBUNKED Trump/Russia sillyness. Give it up and give it a break,...you guys gave it a shot, milked it out for as long as you could,.... but in the end you lose. Gonna lose even more when the Durham findings come out.
