This is his opening statement: "Why herd immunity to COVID-19 is reached much earlier than thought, Prof. Nic Lewis is an eminent climate scientist and an expert in statistical analysis." https://judithcurry.com/2020/07/27/w...hought-update/

Grajonca just put me on ignore again, because I questioned his source; this guy is off his rocker big time.

He quoted a study which suggests there are cross-reactive immune components that confer immunity to COVID. SARS COVID19 is from the same family as the common cold. So it’s not surprising there are immune components that react with COVID19 in many people’s blood. Many people get mild or no symptoms for some other reason?

    I can’t think of any.

This is encouraging for two reasons: one is, it may not matter if the *specific* COVID antibodies don’t hang around for long—so long as there are other antibodies that confer a degree of immunity to it.

Secondly, it means we may be a lot closer to herd immunity than we know. COVID plowed through NY and much of the northeast and now this region is relatively quiet.

THAT should be considered due to herd immunity until herd immunity is *definitively* ruled out. And it’s not.

No offense, Cuomo. No offense, election year politics.

Oh, he always quotes from that Judith idiot's blog. He thinks a blog = peer-reviewed scientific journal publication.

I posted an article about that a couple of weeks ago. It was actually in an actual scientific study, not the blog of a whackadoo.

    Here. A real article.

How can you comment on the other study when you didn’t even read it?

So you agree Cuomo is likely taking credit for the effects of herd immunity?

I saw a report that some people have significant protection from this coronavirus off of having a different coronavirus before, which if true would mean that we likely dont need to get to about 80% infection rates to get herd immunity....which would be awesome.
I choose my own words like the Americans of olden times........before this dystopia arrived.

Judith Curry is an eminent climate scientist as is prof. Nic Lewis, you deranged fucking lunatic. Trumpet is a dopey cunt and not worth engaging, he can't seem to get his head around the fact that brilliant people can be expert in more than one discipline. Here is a paper that Nic Lewis and Judith Curry were co-authors of in the AMS Journal of Climate.

    So, to recap lol:

Rather than affirming the efficacy of lockdowns and putting a feather in Cuomo’s cap, NY may be better explained in terms of herd immunity.

Maybe Fauci will opine on it at some point.
