If he did, he'd soon notice (especially in Missouri and southward, as well as rural Alaska like around Wasilla), the abundance of tiny little cinderblock buildings that are the churches for Assembly of God and other fundie groups. Each one is sure that HIS church has the One True Path to Jesus, and Trump is His prophet.

Living in the country does not mean the same thing in all areas. I do in fact live in a rural area. No cinderblock churches here.

I feel bad for you as I have nothing against Catholics whatsoever as many are very fine people. I just never understood why the church makes such a point of doing things that the Bible makes a point in saying......." whatever you do, dont do this!" I just think its is mostly a problem of not reading the word enuff and putting way too much faith into what men say instead of what scripture says.

You are not reading what the scripture says.

The scripture was not written in English.

The NT was written in ancient Greek and the OT was written in ancient Hebrew, neither of which you can read.

Any translation, including a vernacular English translation, is a pale imitation of the original language the scripture were written in - and translations never are 100 percent successful and accurate at capturing the meaning and intent of the original language.

That is why trained theologians spend years at colleges and seminary studying theology and frequently becoming familiar with Greek and Latin.

The bible is not something that can be cherry picked for quotes. And I believe it is a dubious proportion to expect a person of average intelligence, reading a 20th century English translation of ancient Greek, to really become a theological expert on the meaning and intent of ancient scripture
