The Attorney General doesn't have standing to civilly sue a corporation for malfeasance of any sort. That requires stockholders, members, or others who were harmed by the corporation's actions. The Attorney General can only bring criminal charges against the principles, management, etc., of the corporation for laws they broke.

The NRA isn't a corporation, it's a non-profit, and the NY State charter gives the NY AG wide purview to pursue litigation against fraudulent non-profits, you know, like they did with the Trump Foundation last year.
