Cocaine is a pharmaceutical drug. Doctors could not do eye surgery without it, which why it is still legal for pharmaceutical use, but heavily regulated. While heroin is no longer a pharmaceutical drug, other variations on opioids still are. Opioids are the only known real painkiller, and even though they are highly dangerous, they are very essential.
Marijuana is not recognized by the federal government as a pharmaceutical drug, which is odd because it has obvious pharmaceutical uses.
Here we actually agree. The jury is also out on how to best use Hydroxychloroquine, if at all. Researchers are frantically trying to find the best regiment to save as many lives as possible.
Random people taking drugs because they feel it might help is not helping the medical community.

Why did the ‘formerly respectable’ medical journal The Lancet put out a half-baked study in which they claimed 30% of COVID patients might actually die from taking HCQ—only to be forced to retract it when it was pointed out their methodology sucked?
What the actual frick is going on? Is it really Because Trump? Or is it because Big Pharma has skin in the game? Maybe both?
And is there some point where we should start asking if people are actually dying because of sheer politics?
