It does not matter. The virus is on droplets of liquid. If it stops them, it stops Corona. It does stop them. If you and the person you encounter are wearing masks, then you are much safer. If at a safe distance, you are very safe. That is what the science shows.
If you were wearing a loosely knit mask, it would not stop as many. But it would still stop some droplets and some virus.
