The point of course is it is cheaper. It helps people. It helps the cops. Many rape victims say the second worse thing that happened to them was dealing with the cops after the rape. That is why so many rapes go unrecorded. That is an example of work cops fail in. So are domestic disturbances, homeless problems and the mentally ill.

Hurr Durr Durr...it's cheaper, Hurr Durr Durr...except it's not. That social worker doesn't do anything yet gets paid...money that would to to a cop who can actually help in court.

Well they aren't really trained to deal w/ those situations either......... Homeless problem?? Run them off or put them in jail.... There are no institutions any more......
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

The usefulness of the social workers is pointed out in the article maybe you can have your nurse or your parole officer read it to you

    I get that part.

Problem is, these kind of ‘low intensity’ [for lack of a better word] interactions with cops don’t contribute much to bad outcome statistics. What were the social workers going to do with Michael Brown?

Someone committing a crime isn’t going to pay attention to a social worker lol. In fact, an unarmed social worker is liable to get hurt if they confront the criminal.

No one denies there’s a role social workers can play in certain instances—it’s just that those types of instances aren’t the problem.
Coup has started. First of many steps. Impeachment will follow ultimately~WB attorney Mark Zaid, January 2017

How could have social workers changed the outcome in the Floyd case?

Unfortunately, it won't be long before one is hurt...or killed. Such a ridiculous move.... Whose idea was that?
