In what is probably the most despairing column I have ever read from George Will, he notes that "last Sunday, Germany (population 80.2 million) had 159 new cases of covid-19; Florida (population 21.5 million) had 15,300." He properly omitted blaming Florida's governor for the pandemic's gross mismanagement — DeSantis is merely Trump's rather goofy Rudolph Hess, not His Supreme Incompetence himself — and instead fingered the only manager who counts.
"Under the most frivolous person ever to hold any great nation’s highest office, this nation is in a downward spiral. This spiral has not reached its nadir, but at least it has reached a point where worse is helpful, and worse can be confidently expected. The nation’s floundering government is now administered by a gangster regime."
Will's observation is, of course, nothing original. You've observed it, I've observed it, at least 216 million (60 percent) other Americans have observed it. But how can that still be the case? President Frivolous has now had nearly four years of on-the-job training, hence still coming off as a spiraling buffoon seems virtually unachievable.
And yet, just ponder this eloquent, flowing, insightful passage from Trump's hourlong gibberish yesterday before the nation and the national press:

The #TRE45ON quote from the article:
"You look at the intercoastal in Florida, you look at the Lakes, you see thousands of boats with Trump signs, American signs, you’ve got the Trump-Pence sign all over. But we had in 2016 something even more so, but we got in and we had 306 [wrong] to, I guess, 223 [wrong], which was a tremendous margin of difference [1964: Johnson, 486; Goldwater, 52]. You remember, they all said, "He cannot get to 270." I went to Maine a number of times, where we just freed up lobster fishing and fishing. They took away 5,000 square miles from Maine. I just opened it up and I just got rid of tariffs in China. And we’re working on European Union, which charge our fishermen tariffs, and I said, "You’re not going to do that." So we freed it up for Maine, but if you take a look, we went up there recently. There were crowds; thousands of people lined up going over to a factory where we were opening up for … we’re making swabs. A beautiful big, new factory making swabs."
WTF does this even mean? Lobster fishermen are more important than all the ppl dying in the pandemic?
Gods.

Trump nor the Fed can make the virus go away. He can't keep people from rioting and breathing on each other during, protests.
He can't keep people from going to the beach's in Miami. Latino's are close knit people that like to hug and congregate with each other. Sounds like the OP is anti-Latino and thinks they are dumb people.

Trump's strategy for dealing with covid-19 is to suppress the pandemic data and deny that it exist, and that will make the disease go away, I would say that this has reached beyond the insane level.

The point of the thread is that other countries did exactly what was needed with great results. Trump ignored it. Rightys are still fighting doing the simple things that will defeat it. We are still arguing face masks. How can that be in July? There is no debate. Masks and quaranteening could have ended or controlled it.

They had real stats from the ECDC. They sent kids back to school and got folks back to work.
We locked everyone up, masked'm, shut down schools and reported inflated CDC case numbers to scare people into hiding.
Abortion rights dogma can obscure human reason & harden the human heart so much that the same person who feels
empathy for animal suffering can lack compassion for unborn children who experience lethal violence and excruciating
pain in abortion.
Unborn animals are protected in their nesting places, humans are not. To abort something is to end something
which has begun. To abort life is to end it.
