Well, the flu vaccine is only marginally effective.

We’ll see. Actually, I’ve wondered whether the fact they give flu vaccines causes the flu virus to evolve via natural selection the way bacteria do in the presence of antibiotics. It would be a neat way to keep the flu vaccine business going.

At any rate, treatments could nullify a need for a vaccine. I’m a fan of the immune system approach. COVID victims are most often attacked by their own immune system with the virus acting as a trigger.

London's Telegraph reports that results from a Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating Oxford University's COVID-19 vaccine candidate ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 [ADZ1222 by licensee AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN)] in healthy volunteers showed that it triggered a "double defense" immune response against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Researchers noted that administration of the candidate produced both antibodies and killer T cells. The response, if confirmed, has significant implications for sustained immunity since antibodies may fade away within months while T cells remain in circulation for years.

I don’t subscribe to a cancer cure conspiracy theory but I understand why people might. In fact, if our society doesn’t totally deteriorate in the next 25 years I think they will cure cancer since cancer is fundamentally a genetic disease. Curing it is a simple matter [in principle] of having the right tools since we have human genome mapped out.

Find the mechanism for the cytokine Storm and go after it. Bye-bye COVID. That’s if it doesn’t under go a deletion first lol.

And you’re right: it’s not as simple as finding a switch. There’s a cascade of events that happens even in something benign as histamine release. Not to say it can’t be done.
