You are very knowledgeable on this. I like it. Not to mention our grid is useless for any hope of feeding any alternative energy back to it. Power density is foreign concept to many people. If they understood it, they would understand why Alternatives are not viable as of right now.

I studied this problem in great detail and was a major player when Tom Steyer (a billionaire that most recently ran for President on the Democrat ticket) tried to push Proposition 128 in Arizona for the state to get 50% of its energy from renewables. I have a massive ream of data I can toss at anyone showing just how utterly stupid solar is and how wind isn't worth the cost (it is much better than solar but not better enough).

The correct answer to getting cleaner energy is N2N+H or Natural Gas to Nuclear plus Hydrogen. Hydrogen fuel cell cars, not battery cars are the answer to zero pollution vehicles. Natural gas supplementing nuclear gives us massive amounts of clean, reliable, and cheap energy. It also makes hydrogen feasible.

When you scale up solar to commercial proportions you get things like the "Ivanpah bird cooker" in California, and Solana in Gila Bend AZ that set the state's record for environmental fines. Solar is not environmentally friendly and it is horribly inefficient.

Exactly! Another thing most want to go green immediately people have no clue about is increase in demand for electricity due to chargers, etc. All the creature comforts they need to stay connected. Our demand is going up, not down.

My favorite is Ecotality, a company here in Phoenix that got $125 million from the Obama administration to install electric battery car charging stations all over the metro Phoenix area. They put in hundreds of these. The company's gross revenue that resulted was less than $5,000 and they went bankrupt. Most of the stations were vandalized, particularly by copper thieves, and are no longer in service. A few remain in service owned by another company.

That's $125 million plus wasted on a project that made nothing in profit. It provided a few people with temporary jobs and resulted in a complete loss of investment, jobs, and infrastructure. But, it was the ideal desired by Obama administration Progressive Leftists based on their wishes and dreams rather than sound engineering and economic analysis.

I have been railing against the Energiewende on here for a few years now, precious few have any clue about its corrosive effects on the German energy market. I have also come to the conclusion that most Americans on the Left are truly ignorant when it come to energy issues.
