Then put your money where your mouth is...literally.

Infect yourself, get tested positive, survive it, then if you do survive it, wait 4 weeks and start licking COVID patients to test your theory.

    Go ahead. I dare you.

There's not a NY-specific strain of COVID that only affects NYers, and there's not a TX-specific strain that only affects Texans.

It's basically the argument for single payer, universal health care; you don't get a different kind of breast cancer in Massachusetts than you do in Colorado. Same with COVID. Everyone has to work together. This is why I hate group projects.
That only exists because trump needed to be able to place blame on others. He essentially washed his hands of this, after 3 months of hiding the facts from the public.

He started out claiming that he can shut down the nation. He then chose to blame governors for his own mistakes.

If the nation would adhere to NY's model, we wouldn't have to take such drastic measures. I have sanitizer/alcohol in every vehicle. I've been wearing a mask in public, and I sanitize my hands/steering wheel, etc. every time I return to said vehicles.

The biggest problem is that trump made this an us/them issue, and 'us' in now responsible for the outrageous explosion of cases we are seeing in Fla/Texas, and everywhere else he held his super spreader events.

We definitely have to stop cross state movement without proper quarantining procedures.

None of this will happen, because POTUS is a moron. He simply cannot accept that this is a pandemic, and he blew his chance to get this under control
Exactly...Trump made the two things that were best at stopping the spread of the virus (masks, lockdowns) political.

    There's no money in that.
And i just explained how that is physically impossible.

Yup, and Conservatives are in too deep to do anything about it. I think they actually believe it will magically disappear if they stop talking about it.

Agree. Like the common cold, it won't go away. You just have to avoid catching it. The problem is that it is easily transmittable, and the symptoms vary with the patient. This particular virus can disappear. Only if people protect themselves while it is still viable. It doesn't live forever without a host.

Immunity to flu is short lived as well, it’s why we get flu shots every year.
Flu viruses continually change over time. This constant changing enables the virus to evade the immune system, so that people are susceptible to the flu throughout life. This process works as follows: a person infected with a flu virus develops antibodies against that virus; as the virus changes, the "older" antibodies no longer recognizes the "newer" virus, and the person gets sick. The older antibodies can, however, provide partial protection against newer viruses.

That will 100% depend on whether or not the White House stops their lying about how to deal with this.

Yes. Some of my Republican friends didn't wear masks at first though- But now they do.

Some are happy they can do their jobs from home- so they like this distancing thang now! LOL!

It got kind of scary around here with the recent spike!

Well telling people it's going to be here forever won't go over well. I'd say they'll figure it out eventually but here you are, arguing that both no immunity is possible, transmission is inevitable if any two people come in contact, and yet somehow it'll just go away if we lock down longer.

I mean I guess it will. Eventually everyone will be dead.

Wait - I thought BLM was this huge massive scary thing that kills people and makes you feel bad for being white...yet BIDEN braved that while Trump hid in his bunker with his binky.
    He was INSPECTING it.

    Lovely choices.
Not even close. Many people have symptoms similar to the common cold. Those who are hospitalized with the most severe symptoms, tend to have permanent damage to multiple organs.

    Some do indeed die.
