And where will people get food? Who will run power plants? Who will work in hospitals? You cannot lock everyone down, so infections will still occur. Sure it'll be slower with fewer people, but that will change as soon as people aren't barricaded in their homes. So what then? Well you have to stay inside forever.

The lockdowns can't just be lockdowns, they need to include contact tracing and testing.

What I would do is shut everything down, and say if your job cannot be "Shut down", then you have to first get tested before you can return to work. I'd start testing all health care and service workers right away while locking down everyone else. No more of these dumb, random COVID testing centers with mile-long waits.

I would then massively increase the hazard pay for all those workers, and guarantee everyone else's wages at 80-90%. Pay people to stay home, let the delivery and essential folks get the hazard pay and testing, then take it from there and see how it goes.

It's what they did in South Korea and it worked.

There's not herd immunity because there isn't, and cannot be, individual immunity. Reinfections occur regularly. Which means. there also cannot be a vaccine, and any promise of this is a lie.
