Had we listened to Fauci this entire time, thousands of lives would have been saved, the spread would be nowhere near where it is now, and the economy would be in much better shape.
Since when are "experts" infallible? It's part of the deal. People always come back w/ "he said we shouldn't wear masks when this started!" like they're on a playground & it's some sort of nyah, nyah thing.
Guess what? Experts learn things as they go along, and adjust their recommendations accordingly. Fauci wanted to re-open - but he was extremely cautious about it, and urged following the CDC guidelines.
Most places did not, and here we are. The results speak for themselves. Anyone who still wants to choose "I alone can fix it" covfefe over Fauci isn't paying attention.

It's just recommendations. I actually don't really support mandates, except in extreme circumstances.
When it comes to healthcare, it doesn't occur to me to not follow professionals. Maybe get a 2nd opinion or 2, sure - but ultimately, I'm not going to ditch the advice of an actual doctor in favor of a real estate guy, or a propoganda network.
Like you keep trying to correlate it - unsuccessfully - to the protests?
And I 100% supported opening up, like everyone did - even Fauci. But according to actual guidelines.
FL did it their own way. Didn't work out too well. NY did it by the guidelines, in stages & w/ proper distancing and mask-wearing recommendations - and they lead the nation right now.
